ELIZABETHTOWN, PA — Two people working at the Mars/M&M plant in Elizabethtown fell into a chocolate tank Thursday and had to be rescued when they couldn't get out, according to multiple reports.

Lancaster County authorities were called to the plant just before 2 p.m., the Patriot-News reported. It's unclear how the two employees ended up in the tank but they needed help getting out, according to the Patriot-News.

About two dozen emergency personnel were sent to the plant, Lancaster Online reported. Rescue crews cut a hole in the bottom of the tank in order to free the employees, according to dispatch reports.

According to Lancaster Online, dispatchers said that while the two employees were "not floating around" in a vat of chocolate, officers did have trouble getting them out.

Both employees were rescued and taken to the hospital, WHP-TV reported.
